We wish...

There was this enthusiasm at every meal.

Coffee with Aunt Susanna from Bonn

Finlay loves foamed milk (no comments about jogging here please).

This is Finlay being his rakish self with his aunt Susanna on Monday hanging out at a restrurant around the corner. Susanna lives in Bonn and does not work for the Telekom. That's remarkable by itself. Plus, she's also a lawyer.

Die Karavane zieht weiter...

Thanks to Aunt Susanna for the Karneval/Mardi Gras costume, which Finlay wore this morning! He found it much more amusing when Christine put it on.

Still no adult DVDs?

Finlay here looks a bit more adult himself, actually. Still searching...

Hint: Ask LT. She has the racy one on loan!

Finlay and the Pushcart

We haven't figured out "turning" yet. Getting there though. Running over cat tails is much more fun than just grabbing them though.

Classic Finlay-Father

If I look and act really stupid in the kitchen, maybe someone will come along and cook something for me.

His father so taught him this one.

We're trying...

No apologies this time for the light posting. The little one is simply more demanding and needs more attention. Plus, one of us was travelling recently.

Developmental milestones reached: First words (last week): "wa wa" for a dog seen on the street (comes from the German "wau wau", or "woof woof") and "bama" or "baba", when we hold him up to the poster of the President in our bathroom. Yes, we have one. It feels like customs at JFK.

More milestones: close to walking now, uses a little cart to get around, can walk with hand holding; wanders in bed at night (was almost kicked out of bed one night when he was pretending to be a cat at the foot of the bed), enjoys pickles and is sick very frequently with the usual fevers and colds that tiny children get. One week of daycare, one week at home. We think we should be finding gold coins in his diapers in the morning as a fairy-tale compensation for all of the illness.
